The NREMT/HSE Technician's role as a Safety Officer is trained in multiple aspects of offshore and land based operations to take on the responsibilities as listed:
Safety Meetings:
Conduct and/or participate in the Pre-job, Daily and/or Weekly, and Post-job with the Operator, Subcontractor and all third party crew, ensuring that all personnel involved in the job know and understand what safety is required for tasks being performed.
Record Keeping:
Keeping an accurate account of the Operator's/Subcontractor's safety data, OSHA logs, POB's, JSA's, any Incident Reports, Audits and Permits is included in our Medic/HSE technician's job. These paper documents are filed electronically, so that a Data CD can be generated at the completion of the job. A copy of this Data CD is given to the Client's for their record-keeping. A copy is also maintained with Centerline, Inc. for six (6) years- the required amount of time by BSEE ( formally BOEMRE).
Orientation:
Safety orientation of new personnel and/or visitors to the location. Maintaining accurate accounts of personnel including POB, SSE (Short Service Personnel) status, along with any certificates they may hold (Well Control, H2S card, CPR, etc.).
Competent Permit Person:
Permitting Programs Handle and maintain on file current Client's Permitting Program, including with metering device for presents of ample oxygen and absents of any gases that may be harmful to employees. These permits would include but not limited to Hot Work, Lock-out and Tag-out, Confined Space, Toxic and Non-toxic Waste Disposal, and any other permitting form that may be used by our client.
Safety Data Collection:
Accident Reports: Preparing accidents reports and ensuring that they are distributed to the correct authorities without delay once they have been proof read and verified by the client Supervisor on site.
Accident Investigations: Conducting and/or assisting in accident investigations, including Root Cause Analysis and JSA upgrade. Results of the investigation, Root Cause and JSA upgrade would be presented to the Client Supervisor for approval, as would the accident report before faxing/emailing to proper authorities.
Medical Logs: Monitor Drug Usage Both Prescription and Over The Counter drugs and record on a spreadsheet to be turned in to the Client Supervisor and the Contract Supervisor.
MSDS Log: Maintain and update all MSDS Stations on location and make available to all personnel (Client, Contract, Third Party and Visitors). Establish a Quick reference Chemical Sheet to be posted at the hopper and drill floor area. Each chemical sheet should have the chemical name, appearance, odor, color, ratings, primary route of exposure, emergency and first aid procedures, and proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) when handling.
Audits and Walk A Rounds: Perform rig or vessel audits at the Client Supervisor's discretion and frequently walk around to ensure personnel and equipment are within compliance with the Client's SEMS policy and procedure along with OSHA and BSEE (Offshore) standards.
Job criteria can be tailored to fit the needs of the Client. We are employed to perform a service and want you as a Client to be satisfied.
Our NREMT/HSE Techs are equipped with an advanced medical protocol. They are equipped with BLS and ALS drugs, Defibrillator (w/monitor and pacer). These standards are strongly recommended when the job site is located within one hour or more from a local Emergency Medical Service, remote areas with hazardous environments (high altitude, severe cold or hot regions, terrain factor, and wildlife such as, snakes, spider, etc.) Our NREMT/HSE Techs are controlled and governed by our Company Medical Protocol (reviewed and upgraded yearly) and our Medical Director. A copy of our protocols can be reviewed by request.
Our Safety Administrative Assistant position is designed to assist the Client Representative with clerical duties and take care of the safety on site. The safety aspects of this position are the same as the HSE Technicians, only they are not of the medical capacity.
